Unlike traditional foam pads that offer limited cushioning, an inflatable air bed contours to your body shape, distributing weight evenly and reducing pressure points. The 200kg load capacity comfortably supports adults of all sizes, and the larger sizes can accommodate two sleepers side by side.
Modern air beds have come a long way from the leaky, uncomfortable pool toys of the past. Our manufacturing process uses high-frequency welding to create seams that are stronger than the material itself. The internal structure features a network of air tubes or coils that maintain shape and stability throughout the night, preventing the “rolling to the center” effect common in cheaper designs.
TPU vs PVC: Material Comparison
We manufacture outdoor air beds in two primary materials, each with specific advantages for different market segments:
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)
TPU is the premium material for air beds, offering an exceptional combination of durability, flexibility, and environmental performance. TPU is significantly lighter than PVC — a TPU air bed typically weighs 30-40% less than an equivalent PVC model. It is also more puncture-resistant, more flexible in cold temperatures (it does not become brittle like PVC), and free of plasticizers and phthalates.
TPU air beds are ideal for backpacking, ultralight camping, and premium outdoor brands. They pack down smaller, inflate faster due to the material’s elasticity, and have a softer, more fabric-like feel against the skin. TPU is also more environmentally friendly, as it is recyclable and does not release harmful chemicals during production or disposal.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
PVC is the traditional, value-oriented material for air beds. It is thicker, heavier, and very abrasion-resistant. PVC air beds are the workhorses of the camping world — tough enough for rough ground, family camping, and commercial use. They are significantly less expensive than TPU, making them the preferred choice for budget retail lines, rental fleets, and promotional products.
Modern PVC formulations have improved significantly — our PVC is phthalate-free and meets REACH and RoHS standards. For added durability, we offer PVC with a flocked top surface that provides a soft, velvety feel and helps keep sleeping bags from sliding. PVC air beds are available in a wider range of sizes and are easier to repair in the field.

Inflation Methods and Valve Types
The valve is a critical component of any air bed — it determines inflation speed, air retention reliability, and compatibility with different pump types. We offer several valve options to suit your product requirements:
Valve Types
- Two-Way Flat Valve: The most versatile option. Air flows in but cannot escape until the valve is deliberately opened. Compatible with most electric pumps, hand pumps, and foot pumps. Features a deflate position for rapid air release when packing up.
- Boston Valve: A large-diameter two-piece valve that allows rapid inflation and deflation. The threaded cap provides a secure, leak-free seal. Compatible with Boston valve pump nozzles. Popular on larger air beds and double-height mattresses.
- Mini Valve (Pinch Type): A small, lightweight valve used on ultralight TPU pads. Requires manual inflation or a dedicated pump. Offers the lowest weight and packed size but slower inflation.
- Built-In Pump Valve: Integrates a rechargeable battery-operated pump directly into the air bed. One-button inflation with no external pump needed. Ideal for premium car-camping products.
Pump Options
- Foot Pump: Lightweight, no batteries needed. Included as a standard accessory with many models. Inflation takes 3-5 minutes of pumping.
- Hand Pump: Compact and efficient. Good for smaller air beds and backpacking models. Some models double as a dry bag when not in use as a pump.
- Electric Pump (12V): Plugs into a car cigarette lighter socket. Fully inflates a large air bed in under 2 minutes. Ideal for car camping and RV use.
- Rechargeable Pump: USB-rechargeable battery-operated pump. No cables needed. Typically provides 3-5 inflation cycles per charge.
- Built-In Rechargeable Pump: The pump is integrated into the mattress itself. Simply press a button and the bed inflates automatically. Premium feature for high-end products.
Durability and Puncture Resistance
A punctured air bed is a ruined trip. That is why we engineer our products with multiple layers of protection to withstand the rigors of outdoor use:
Multi-Layer Construction
Our air beds feature a multi-layer construction that combines an inner air-holding layer with an outer protective layer. The inner layer (TPU film or PVC) provides airtight performance, while the outer layer (woven fabric or flocked PVC) provides abrasion resistance, puncture protection, and a comfortable surface texture. This layered approach means that even if the outer layer is scratched or abraded, the inner air bladder remains intact.
Reinforced Seams
All seams are created using high-frequency (HF) welding, which fuses the material at a molecular level. HF-welded seams are actually stronger than the surrounding material — they will not peel, separate, or leak, even under repeated stress and temperature changes. Every seam is pressure-tested during production to ensure zero air leakage.
Puncture-Resistant Design
The bottom of each air bed features a thicker material gauge and, on select models, an additional abrasion-resistant coating. This protects against sharp ground objects like twigs, stones, and thorns. For maximum protection, we recommend using a ground cloth or footprint under the air bed — we can supply matching ground cloths as an accessory.
Repair Kit Included
Every air bed ships with a repair kit containing adhesive patches, TPU or PVC repair material, and step-by-step instructions. Small punctures can be permanently repaired in minutes, extending the product’s life indefinitely. We also provide bulk repair kits for commercial customers and rental operations.
Quality Testing
Our quality control process includes 100% inflation testing on every unit, seam pressure testing at 1.5x rated pressure, load testing at 1.3x rated capacity, and cycle testing (repeated inflation/deflation) on sample batches. This ensures that every air bed that leaves our factory will perform reliably in the field.
